Island nature hikes
For over 24 years the Panterra group has specialized in educational programming
that introduces participants to the natural environment of the Sea of
Cortez and the islands along the Baja Peninsula.
Our
goals are to impart a knowledge and awareness of the earth's natural
history, demonstrate environmental conservation through educational endeavors, enrich the lives of youth by building valuable life skills and
inspire an interest in further learning.
Our staff are made up of volunteers with varying backgrounds in science,
teaching and experience in the natural environment. Together we are
dedicated to providing participants with an experience of a lifetime.
These experiences have been life changing often guiding students in
directions of careers and in inspiring further learning.
For 2009/10 our programming takes place in the Sea of Cortez. Whether
we encounter whales, sea lions, seabirds or explore the amazing diversity of
undersea life, it's a great way to make the science textbooks come
alive. It's also a valuable opportunity for students interested in
pursuing a career in one of the many fields of the natural sciences, and
more importantly, students can receive school credits for their
participation in the programs.
Our "Adventure Cruising the Sea of Cortez", adult and family expeditions offers
you the opportunity to
spend quality time with family and friends or just simply making new friends.
We take you away from everyday life to a world where you will
explore new environments, often having rare encounters with some of the most amazing marine life on earth.
