Day 5 - part 2

As we headed off to our next destination a
small pod of Bottlenose dolphins seek us out to play.

They came up alongside of us.

They glide through the void created in the wake of the bow.

A break from the sun to diligently work on the Expedition Logbook.

Now for some fun in the sun...

I can only imagine what is going through her mind...
Something like "I can't believe I just jumped from the second level"!

Kayaking lessons are definitely a must!!!!!!!!

Burning off some energy.

The rest of the group arrives for a late afternoon snorkel.

A brown sea urchin feeds on the outside of a Penshell.

A Gulf Sunstar feeding.

A King Angel fish swims by.

Sunset with a full moon in the sky ends an amazing day in the Sea of Cortez.

This morning most of us awoke extra early to capture a glimpse of two whales just off the side of the boat. Once again we figured out that they were both gray whales. All of us were lucky enough to get the chance to see the whales up close and personal in the pangas. After we hung with the whales for a couple of hours, we came in for breakfast.
We were stoked to find out that Norma and Esther made an insane bunch of pancakes. After stuffing our mouths full of dough and syrupy goodness, we headed off to our afternoon activities.
This included traveling through the mangroves. The tide was low so we had to hurry. The mangrove was beautiful. It felt like we were in a movie. The trees were grown into the water. We saw many beautiful birds. We crossed the lagoon and checked out the beach. Unfortunately, we could not stay there long because the tide was retreating.
After a delicious lunch of fish tacos and shrimp, we went to Lobster lagoon. We snorkeled, kayaked, and swam. It was a lot of fun until the bugs chased us away. So we decided to swim around the boat. While we were swimming and jumping off the boat a pod of dolphins joined us. Paige and Brandon got ten feet away. All the excitement created a thirst and an appetite. This was quickly quenched by refreshments and snacks onboard.
We had a fantastic dinner. It was scrumptious. We finished the night with a wonderful slide show by Lela and ST. What an amazing day!
