Chase River Pathfinders

Day 6

This day we had problems with the onboard air conditioning and had
to return to La Paz for the technician. We anchored at Pichilingue,
one of the bays in the Bay of La Paz, and headed out to explore the area.

First stop, "Bird Kadoodles" island.

Here, an array of birds could be found. Frigates and Pelicans.

Blue-footed Boobies

Sally Lightfoot crab sits atop a rock.

We passed by for a quick look at a local fish farm.

After the fish farm we headed over to a rocky outcrop.
Here we found a rogue male sea lion bathing in the waves.

A pair of Mexican Oyster catchers feeding along the waterline.

Cormorants look out onto the sea
as dolphins, boats and sea lions pass by.

A Frigate stretches it's wings.

Then one of the pangas ran out of gas and we towed them back
to the boat. Enough of this nonsense we decided to go into town.

The group spent the rest of the afternoon
shopping and then we met at a local restaurant for dinner.

Virgin Pina Coladas and Margaritas.

Followed by hors d'euvres.

The girls had a great afternoon and you could
here the chatter of the days activities. Especially the shopping.

Lindsay and Courtney had a great day of shopping.

The naturalists were looking good too!

Then supper arrived.
There were no small portions served.

After dinner the Mariachi bands arrived.

They played and sang beautiful Mexican songs...

and the evening was danced away.

Today was a chillaxin day. We practiced our skits and played cards, worked on our Expedition Notebooks until they were 97% done.

Then the adventure began. We went shopping in La Paz. I found some really nice stuff for my family and then we came back to the boat and got all dressed up into our dresses and nice outfits.

Then we got into the panga and headed to shore where we went to a very good restaurant. When we were done eating 2 different people played songs for us. Very cool, my favorite one that  they played was La Bamba by Richie Valances.  We were all up dancing, it was fun. We were all very tired (well most of us) so we got back into the pangas (while the Mexican boys were whistling).

Once back at the boat we played slapps (card game) then I personally went to bed. AWESOME DAY!!!!!
