Chase River Pathfinders

Day 8

This was the morning the kids left to head back to Canada.
Here they have posed for a group picture. If you're one of the
parents who are looking at this you should be proud of your
daughter, her friends and the wonderful role models the leaders
are. What a blessing to have spent the time with this group.

Leaving the marina straight to the vans.

Packing the vans.

We stopped at the half way mark to use the
"banos" and stock up on a few refreshments and snacks.

The town of San Bartolo was the last recipient of the gift program.

These little punkins' were one of several of the recipients.
Please refer to the Baja Gifts Program 3.

A few of the girls caught a few z z z z z z 's along the way.

The hard part was truly saying goodbye.
I could have kept this beautiful group of kids another week.

Hola! Well the trip has finally come to an end and we are driving to Cabo. But as fun as the trip was things have come to an end. Yesterday, I must say, was a great ender, snorkeling, jumping off the  second level of the boat, doing our songs/skits, Rachael's dedication to the leaders "Wow, hope I never have to see their hair done like that again!".

How could I forget the thousands of dolphins. I think this group of girls has changed so much and we've all grown so much from this trip and we've all become closer. Thanks everyone! Don't change!

Yeah the trip's over but we'll always have our memories. The most awesome group memories in Girl Guides are now created because of us. My most magical moment was the animals. The whales spouting 2 inches from the boat. The hundreds of dolphins playing with us, diving belly up you could here them whistling beneath the water. The dominant male sea lion swimming under and around us. The others barking from the breeding grounds. The stingrays swimming under us hiding themselves. I think we'll always remember the jellies too, so many people were stung. There were so many varieties of fish too, also birds.

This was a trip of a lifetime.

Mexico is a beautiful place and i am surrounded by beautiful people. Not only has this trip educated us and given us memories to last a lifetime, but it has brought us all closer together.

Whether we got stung by jellyfish, poked by cacti, or burnt to a crisp, we were still having the time of our lives together.

Not only will we never forget the adventures we had in Mexico, but we will never forget the amazing friendships we made here.

Gracias everyone for making this such an amazing experience.

PS We just crossed the Tropic of Cancer!!!!!!!!

Hola! We are currently driving in a smoking hot van (phew!) on the way to the airport. I feel it has come a little too fast and I've enjoyed most all moments of this trip and every moment we learned.

We were in a small village and as i was handing out a gift bag to the woman she let me hold her baby. It was sooo cute!!!

The dolphins were amazing on the boat. Also going to dinner and having the mexican musicians play their fiddle and guitars and singing to us. That was one of the best parts of the trip! Ice cream was good too!

I've made so many new friends and became closer with old ones, this trip is wonderful and we owe so much thanks to everyone who made this possible.

Thanks - much love - Mexico 2008

Okay, so it's been an awesome week. No regrets! A little piece of advice, never get burned behind the knees, it's painful.

You know I still can't believe that I was in Mexico. Though I have evidence I still don't believe it.

So the ride from La Paz was really long, bumpy and twisty, but great views.

So the airport in Cabo was bigger than I thought it would be and we had an hour wait  before the flight I think. One of the people who work outside the plane got a little mad at us because mom had stopped to wait for the rest of the group. The guy was kind of scary. So one flight down and two more to go.

We're on the plane right now and we just flew over a tiny desert island that only had one thing on it, a palm tree.

I miss Ester so much already and Lela. I can't wait to get home to cry!

So now we are flying over the ocean and I saw the sea lion habitat and the fish shaped island, which made me very sad... but I am glad to have come on this trip and to have met Lela. She is one of the coolest people I have ever met, and i think she sets a great example because she says she is afraid of everything but she still does it. Lela says she is going to write a book and she wants me to illustrate it. That would be so cool if that happened.

I am really sad we are leaving but Rylee, Veronika and me are planning on coming back next year on the family trip to visit Lela, Norma and Ester.

I could really live in Mexico if I could bring my friends, I'm really depressed that we are leaving, but I can't wait to see my friends again and tell them all about the trip, and also give Jade his present... ha, ha!

This trip was the kewlest thing I've ever done and I learned so much. I don't think I'll ever forget it.
