Day 1

The first activity of the trip was a snorkel at Lela's Beach.

A barred porcupinefish (Balloon fish) checks us out as we enter the water.

The world beneath the sea entices Charlotte to explore further.

A young school of Blue/Gold snapper
feeds on the algae attached to the rocks.

A Bradley's seastar tucks under the coral.

Steve heads into the deeper waters.

Amanda ventures into the deeper water as well.

A King Angelfish swims in behind a garden of Gorgonian coral.

Once the snorkel is done we head out to the
California Sea Lion habitat known as "Los Isolotes".

Everyone (as in the sea lions) is hanging out watching the tourists motor around.

A lovely summer afternoon sunbathing.

A dominant male poses as our cameras click away.

... and how are you today?

A Brown Booby looks on.

A Magnificent Frigate strategically hangs in the path of the breeze.

A Blue-footed Booby also looks on.

A couple of Brown Pelicans sit high atop the volcanic habitat.

Jim and Elizabeth pose for a picture.

As we depart for our evening destination
we all find a comfortable spot for dolphin watching.

Amanda finds a comfortable spot on the bowsprit.

Stephanie hangs by the wheelhouse.

Eventually we spot a couple of
Bottlenose Dolphins racing towards the boat.

They come up alongside and swim alongside the boat.

Once we arrived at our evening destination, we don
our swim gear and jump off the boat... from the second level.

Charlotte follows a few of the other guests.

Then there was Stephanie and Jim.

Synchronicity.

Our fist day's sunset.
