Day 4

This morning we decided to head to the beach to explore the geology.

There was lots to see and discover.

Coral sea fan washed up on the shore.

A tanstar that may have got caught up in the low tide on the rocky shore.

As we looked around the geology was amazing.

You can see the concentric circles in some of the rock.

A comglomerate of volcanic rock.

Some of the group chose to hike the ridge.

Others went off to further explore the geology.

Ron and Paige take a moment out to chat.

The afternoon brought us back to the sea lion habitat for a snorkel.

A school of Sargent Major fish.

A Giant Damsel fish, Rainbow Wrasse and Barber fish.

A male sea lion swims below us.

Ron and Paige take it all in.

A Yellow-tailed Surgeon fish feeding on the algae on the rocks.

Steve pops his head up at the same time ...

... as the male does. I bet they scared each other.

Charlotte swims along taking it all in.

A male swims by beneath her.

A Finescale triggerfish nips at the coral.

Surrounded by a school of Blue and Gold snapper.

Stephanie observes a group of female sea lions.

They were playing and fooling around.

The group chillaxed while the crew went fishing.

The crew were gone for an hour or so and returned with a bucket full of fish.

A healthy sized Pargo fish was part of the catch.

Nothing like fresh fish for dinner.

Our last sunset at sea.
