Daily JournalSpirit of AdventureDay 4 - Photo Journal |
![]() Our morning started with a geological exploration. ![]() The Islands geology dates back to the birth of the San Andreas Fault. There are so many neat rocks and minerals to find. ![]() We have no idea what this is. But it stood out amongst the conglomerate rock. |
![]() Kim collects quartz agates amongst the rocks. ![]() A small deposit of Selenite crystals. |
![]() Kendra explores the physiology of a dead pelican. ![]() It was easier getting onto the beach than getting off. ![]() The afternoon takes us on a huge adventure. |
![]() We were hoping to access the mangrove lagoon at high tide. ![]() Not so much so we "portaged" across the little embankment. |
![]() Once in the lagoon it was pretty amazing. ![]() A lone Pelican attracts our attention. |
![]() Didn't realize Pelicans could dance or maybe it was "flashing" us! ![]() We start to meander through the canals. |
![]() Life in the mangrove is very abundant. ![]() A Blue Heron squawks and flies away. |
![]() Sponges, hydroids and seaweed grow around the roots. ![]() Schools of fish swim by. ![]() White Ibis (left), Snowy Egret, (middle) and 2 young White Egrets (right) feed during the low tide. |
![]() Our last sunset at sea. |
| Day 5 was a pretty laid back day we headed into La Paz, checked into the hotel and spent the rest of the day shopping. |
