Pre-Day 1 and Day 1 - Photo Journal

Pre - Day 1
(we boarded the ship and left the anchorage
the afternoon before our scheduled departure)

Kim and Jerome pose for a picture on the bowsprit.

As the sun started to set a pod of approx. 100
Common dolphins swim by and take a moment to play.

Deb and JP observe from the bowsprit.

The dolphins jumped and splashed all around us.

The first of many beautiful sunsets.

Kendra takes in the sunset.

Pascal celebrates his 14th birthday.

Cutting the cake to share with the guests at his birthday dinner.

Day 1

Deb and Caroline swim to the beach from the boat.

The rest of the group heads to shore in the panga.

JP grabs his flippers from the panga.

Kim, Jerome (in the background) and their two sons,
Pascal (left) and Ruslan (right) don their snorkel gear.

Steve, Larissa and JP also gear up for a snorkel.

A school of sardines swim into the bay.

A Fanged Blenny hides in a crevice.

Flower Petal sea urchin and
a Brown Spotted sea cucumber.

Deb and Kendra swim back to the boat.

A visit to the California sea lion habitat "Los Isolotes".

Some of the male and female sea lions
play, swim and simply hang out socially...

... while others laze around taking it all in.

High atop the habitat a male and female
Blue-footed Boobies stay close by their chick.

Later on in the afternoon we encounter
a small pod of Bottlenose Dolphins. They
swam alongside the boat for several minutes.

They surfaced, swam and dove alongside the boat.

Larissa and Steve

This ends our first full day of adventure at sea.
