Daily JournalSummer Cruise for TeachersDay 5 - Photo Gallery |
![]() The morning adventure got us up as the sun started to rise and the moon and Jupiter were falling but still visible in the
sky. |
![]() The landscape and geology was quite interesting. ![]() The cactus were quite large for such a low-lying brush area. |
![]() Amanda holds a piece of beautiful white quartz in her hand. ![]() Kenton and Marcie collected sea treasures from the beach. Skeletal remains of a couple stingrays, a turtle and a couple large shells. |
![]() Our after breakfast adventure took us out in the pangas alongside a pod of Common Dolphins. ![]() They were happy and playful. Jumping and splashing everywhere. |
![]() We were surrounded by them. ![]() They didn't mind in the least that we were alongside. ![]() It was amazing to watch. |
![]() This one cleared the water by at least 5 feet. ![]() You could here them clicking and echolocating in a high-pitch squeal. ![]() ... and then they were gone. We were so charged by the experience we decided to forego snorkeling and kayaking for whalewatching. |
![]() About an hour and a half later we spotted a Finback whale. When it surfaced you could hear the strength in the exhale/inhale through the
blowhole. |
![]() And then disappeared. We watched for about an hour before heading back into La Paz. |
![]() Once back at the docks we said our goodbyes to the crew. |
![]() The last picture of the trip! What a spectacular ending to a "Summer Cruise for Teachers"!!!!! |
