Daily JournalAurora Charter SchoolDay 3 - part 2 |
![]() The afternoon adventure brought us to the goat herding community of Palma Solo. A perfect place for the Baja Gifts Program. Please see the Baja Gifts Program page of this journal. We were greeted by the school teacher, Albert. This is the first time Palma Solo had one. He had only been there for 2 months. |
![]() He wanted to share his schoolhouse with us. So we trekked through the community past a couple of homes. ![]() There was a small herd of goats hanging around the house. |
![]() Finally we got to the schoolhouse. ![]() Albert invited us in. |
![]() It was a one room school house with nine students. (Katie you owe me big time!!!!) ![]() They were learning about the ecosystem of their backyard. And what a cool backyard it is. |
![]() After the schoolhouse we went to visit with a few of the community members before making our way back to the boat. ![]() The community had cattle... |
![]() donkeys (and 1 horse we saw). ![]() It was a pretty neat experience. |
![]() While we waited for the pangas to pick us up we saw a few hundred pelicans feeding on a very large school of small fish. Probably sardines or grunts. |
![]() As we made our way back towards our evening destination we saw a pod of something coming towards us.
|
![]() Long Beaked Common Dolphins to be exact. ![]() They jumped and splashed. Hundreds of them. ![]() What a spectacular way to end the day. |
