Day 6

This morning the wind kept us boxed in the bay so we decided that we
would spend it at anchor doing homework and playing.  So we started
by putting the kayaks in the water. First up Mr. Dang and Mrs. Joblinski

Then Amy and Michelle.

As Mr. D and Mrs. J were kayaking a balloon blew out of the salon
and out to sea so they tried to get it but it stayed one blow ahead of them.

Amy and Michelle finally caught up to Mr. D and Mrs. J.

Only to tip there kayak and have to be returned back to the boat in the
kayak. Meanwhile Mr. D and Mrs. J got a free tow from behind the panga.

Anisha and Stretch try their hand at kayaking.

Unfortunately they got caught in the wind
and current and had to be towed back to the boat.

Meanwhile, back at the boat. The kids
were swimming off the back of the boat.

Jumping and posing...

Screaming, counting and posing?...

Still counting, still screaming and posing?...
But all in all having important kid time.

Cliff Jumping

We headed to the famous cliffs.

The kids nervously chatted amongst themselves.

Photographers in place and we're ready.

First up, Mitch.

The Manta Ray Show

The day started with a hundred or so
manta's (mobula's) dancing in the air.

They were flapping there wings like birds.

They were navigating on their way to a
predetermined breeding area. It was a week of mating manta's.

We woke up this morning at Lela’s Beach. It was backwards day today which was really cool. It was mandatory for everyone to wear everything backwards, and if they arrived upstairs for breakfast with their clothes on forwards, they were sent back downstairs to change.

After breakfast, we spent the day in the water! =) At around 12:00 p.m Lela allowed us to get out the kayaks and paddle around for a bit. While some people kayaked, the others jumped off the back of the boat and swam. Only two kayaks tipped! It was a lot of fun, and a lot of work. The waves were coming against us, so many of us got stuck in the middle of the bay because the winds were so strong. Luckily, the panga came out and rescued us. We then had lunch.

After lunch, we head to a different part of Lela’s Beach and went snorkeling and kayaking again. Snorkeling was an amazing experience this time, however it was a little scary. We encountered a SCORPION fish, 2 Crown of Thorns, and a balloonfish. The crown of thorns is the DEADLIEST seastar in the world! It was really nerve-racking because of the fact that we were only about a foot away from it. As for the scorpion fish, if it wasn’t for Mr. Dang, we probably would have stepped on it. The scorpion fish contains toxic venom, which is very dangerous. Besides these fatal organisms, we also saw various other species of fish. Once we finished snorkeling, we headed back to the boat for our surprise.

The surprise was that we were going cliff jumping! We then took a panga to a certain cliff, and gathered all of our courage, and jumped off. It was a bundle of fun! It was very exhilarating to jump off the cliff at first, and feel like you were never going to hit the water. Once you did hit the water, it was frightening to feel as if you were never going to come up! All in all, the experience was amazing!

On our way to the night's anchor we ran into many manta rays jumping. They were splashing and flapping their wings. After we arrived, we ate dinner and began working on our Panterra Workbooks. During our work, Lela spotted a sea turtle! It was a beautiful sight! Around 11:00ish we snoozed off in our staterooms.
