Day 7
This morning we woke up to calm waters and a bright sunny day. We slowly made our way to the breakfast table, following the fresh aroma of pancakes. After breakfast we did some homework and our workbooks. Then, after relaxing for a bit, we got ready to go to the beach. We boarded the pangas and went to Bonanza Beach. A few of us kayaked to the beach from the boat. At the beach, we snorkeled and swam along the shore, near the corals. We saw many different kinds of fish and invertebrates. Some people played soccer while others relaxed in the sun. Again we boarded the pangas and returned to the boat while others kayaked back.

Once we returned from the beach, the boat unanchored and headed towards La Paz. On the voyage back we completed our homework. Everyone had an hour to himself or herself: some decided to sneak in a quick nap while others played cards. We had lunch and then docked in Marina De La Paz.

Then we decided to go shopping at the local vendors. Many of the shops were closed because it was Sunday but we still managed to collect some small trinkets. We also stopped for a little treat near a polka dotted tree. We had ice cream and enjoyed the nice weather. It was blistering hot and sunny!

We then returned to the Narval and prepared ourselves for dinner. Mrs. Joblinski decided to treat everyone to dinner at Rancho Viejo. Dinner was fun! After dinner we walked back to the dock and finished our workbooks. We also received gifts from Lela and Stasia. Finally we packed and “chillaxed”! Oh Snap!

Day 8

The warm wind breezed through our door as the sun arose and the day began. We all woke up, got dressed, and headed to the salon for a nice continental breakfast. Many sad faces filled the room as it was the end of our journey. It was now time to say goodbye. We gave out presents to the wonderful crew, and the fantastic naturalists, Lela and Stasia. We headed up the dock taking any last pictures and saying farewell to The Narval. We packed up the van and headed to the Cabo San Lucas airport stopping at the famous Hotel California. Once we checked in, we went through airport security and had our final meal there. For many it was pasta or pizza. We boarded our plane at 3:45 and said our last goodbye to Mexico. The plane ride was long yet very exciting as many of us were itching to see our parents and tell them all about our exciting trip. We finished any left-over homework within our final hours and enjoyed the rest of our flight. Once we reached home, we found our parents and explained with joy our stories. We went home remembering fun memories and hoping one day to return again.
