Day 3

Vikki and Lane head out kayaking.

Don, Nikita and Caitlyn head out for a snorkel.

There was an amazing world to explore beneath the sea.

Graeham and Shayne catch up to the snorkelers.

A school of Scissortail Damselfish.

Brown Damselfish, Chocolate Seastar,
Sargent Major fish and to the right, Ostrich Plume Hydroid.

King Angelfish.

Chillax' on the beach.

On the way back to the boats a small pod of
Bottlenose dolphins comes up alongside to check us out.

They circled the boat and swam past, around and under us.

The afternoon adventure took us to the fishing village
(a little rock island) of Isla Pardito (sometimes referred to as Isla Coyote).

We were invited to land on the shores and visit.

First stop, catch of the day... Tuna.

Yellowtail Tuna.
Beto, the fisherman, helps Cory and Graeham hold up a tuna.

Victoria and Shane poke around at
a King crab caught in the fishing net.

Ismael and friend start filleting another part of the days catch.

Removing the fish from the nets.

Another part of the catch, Angel Shark.

Stasia no, don't whack Stephen with the fishing rod.
It wasn't his fault he caught a bigger fish than you.

Actually, the fish were a gift from the fishing village.

As the sun was setting a school of manta ray
were on the surface courting and mating.

Here you can see the wing tips of the manta ray.

Here a male has mounted a female and I'm not
sure if that is the tail or the barb (stinger). It looks
like the stinger attached to the base of the tail.

Recording the days encounters in the Panterra Expedition Logbook.

We set up the nightlight ...

but the only true visitor (that stuck
around) was an Archer Swimming crab.
