Meadowridge School

Baja Gifts Program

The Meadowridge group arrived with a shoebox of gifts under each participant's arm. The recipients of their gifts are a series of three communities all within distance (three bays) of each other and not accessible by land. It is only accessible by boat.

I had chosen these communities so that I could let them know we would be visiting a week later with doctors and dentists to administer free healthcare.

The first community, Punta Alta is made up of approx. 7 families with 16 kids total. It is the largest of the three. The next community is Las Cuevas made up of 4 families with a total of 8 kids. The last community, and smallest, is made up of two families and three children total.

These kids do not go to school and are taught mostly by their parents and a circuit teacher that visit the communities for 3 months of the year.

Theses communities are blessed to have Meadowridge as a friend and the Meadowridge students are equally blessed to have experienced the joy from the community for the thoughtfulness of a visit, playtime and of course, the gifts left behind. it is a huge experience

that makes one's heart smile.
