Naturalist Notes

Day 7 (part 2) and Day 8

After the blue whales were through with us we headed to Lela's Beach where we finally kayaked, swam and snorkeled for the last time on the trip. The snorkelers enjoyed warm, crystal clear waters with yet another amazing array of marine life.

To end our trip at sea the group went cliff diving. One dive each and then we headed back to La Paz.

On the way back to La Paz we finished the last chapters of the workbook.

The evening was spent at the local Carnival where vendors, musicians and rides took over the city's seawalk, the "Malecon". The city was happy and the carnival was full of joy.

We went for a late dinner and some of us were serenaded by a local Mariachi Band.

Day 7 was definitely the most magical day of the entire trip.

Day 8
We got up had breakfast and had time to finish the work books. The group then packed, took some cool group shots on the bow of the boat, hugged the crew goodbye and then they were off to Cabo for their return trip home.

I think I can say the group had a wonderful time and encountered everything one could encounter, took in all the activities and didn't allow the wind to ruin a day. But that's to be expected. Spirit River Academy is a school of beautiful kids and thank goodness the trip delay didn't ruin a moment.

All the best to you all. Lindsay, Jimmy and  Joel, is was great to have you back. Your parents should be proud as you have all grown (in the two years since I last saw you) into wonderful and considerate young adults.

Hugs always,

Lela the naturalist
