Daily JournalThe Pink Panterra Seagoing WhalesDay 1 and 2 - Photo Gallery |
| Day 1 The sun sets as we await the group's arrival. Unfortunately the driver got lost and the group spent a little more time in the van than expected. Finally the van pulls up. |
| The group arrived safe and sound but hungry and tired. Vanessa and Michelle engaged in conversation as they await their first authentic Mexican dinner. |
First course was soup followed by beef tacos. Day 2 It was yet another 3 hour van ride to the gray whale lagoons of Magdalena Bay. Once we arrived we were whisked off to sea in search of gray whales. A Pelican crosses our path. |
| It was a bit nippy on the water. The fishing community of Puerto Magdalena. |
| The community church. Finally a whale sighting! |
First the blow. A quick exhale followed by an inhale of air. The body was was huge and muscular. |
| The knuckles along the stock of the tail. We stopped for a quick hike and lunch at a base camp. The view was breathtaking! You could see the blows from the whales. |
| Once back on the water we encounter another gray whale. This time closer than the encounters earlier. There is nothing more awesome than watching the fluke (tail) as the gray whale dives. |
| And that ends our amazing day of whalewatching. The last fluke of our adventure at Magdalena Bay. A quick picture in front of a skeleton of a gray whale. The sun sets as we head home to the MV Narval. Once on the boat we head out to sea. What an amazing way to end an awesome day! |
