Daily JournalChristine AmalaDay 1 and 2 |
| Day 1 - arriving in La Paz The sun had set and the group still had not arrived. It was going to be a very long day for the travelers. |
| The group finally arrived... weary. |
| A cold beer for the boys and a cold soda for Melven. |
| Christine and Jeff also relax with a cold beer. Supper was on it's way. |
| Day
2 - The Gray Whales of Magdalena Bay It was an early start for the group. We left La Paz around 7:00 am arriving in Magdalena Bay around 10:00 am. Once on the boat we headed out into the lagoon, all was good! |
| Enroute we pass by the community of Puerto Magdalena. The community Catholic Church. |
| Once out into the deeper waters of the bay we sighted our first gray whale. It was an amazing feeling to be in the presence of such an animal. |
| Halfway through our adventure we stopped at a base camp for lunch. The scenery was breathtaking. You could stand at the top of the hill and watch the whales blow in the bay. |
| Back on the water we once again were on the lookout for whales. A snapshot of Melven. |
| A close encounter. The body glided through the water effortlessly. Then it fluked (showed it's tail and dove). Sunset on a magical day with the gray whales. |
