Baja Gifts Program

The group came down with a bundle of gifts and the
first of the recipients was the community of Punta Alto.

Karen hands out her bag filled with toy
cars, stickers, crayons, coloring books and more.

Naomi hands out her gift bag and the young
boy can't wait to see what gifts he has received.

Lauren pulls out some of the toys from her bag
as the little girl is way to shy to even take the bag.

Sharon gets the girl to finally pull out some of the gifts and they played with
some of the toys while her sisters, brothers and cousins received their gift bags.

Jarret gives his gift bag away.

The kids were happy to receive such beautiful and thoughtful gifts.

Next on the stop was the community of Las Cuevas.

Claire gives her gift bag to the youngest of the recipients.

Lane gives his gift bag to the only girl in the community.

Veronica gives her "gangsta" bag to an intrigued recipient.

This boy shows off one of his presents, a baseball cap.

This one has his scribbler and pencil crayons out ready to get to work drawing.

Our last stop the community of Nopolo.

This community  was a little trickier getting into.

This elderly woman received a shirt and a HUGE
bag of wool, knitting needles and related accessories.

Showing off her new shirt not to mention the excitement of the big bag of wool.

It's funny how things work out. The last time I visited with this community we had taken a
medical team to administer healthcare and she had asked me if I could bring her some wool.
A week later I returned home, to Canada, and while taking stuff to the recycle room I found

this huge bag of wool. I mean a garbage bag size. I later found out that an elderly woman

had passed away and whoever cleaned out her condo placed this bag in the recycle room

hoping someone could make use of it. Thank you to whomever did that. It went to a
wonderful, wonderful home in the Baja.

The students took some time to play with the two of the three girls in the community.

Then the ball ended up on the roof and the group went to work retrieving it.

Yup, that's our Stasia ... hard at work.  Honestly!!!!

Karen, Rhonda and Lauren organize the girls gift packs.

Naomi hands out the last of the three gift  bags.

Dr. Shelley Breadner

Shelley had baby/kid clothes donated to her by friends and colleagues.
They knew Shelley was participating in the Baja Gifts Program.

Stephanie holds one of the babies while
the mom helped Shelley sort the baby clothes.

They moms were so tickled by this very thoughtful act of gift giving.
