Day 6

We started the morning with whale watching and first on the list a Finback whale.

The water was calm and the whale stayed
close enough for some great whale watching.

Off in the distance a Marlin was jumping clear out of the water.

Part of the afternoon was spent reading, playing cards, simply chilaxin'.

The girls had a serious game of El Presidente going.

A late afternoon snorkel.

The water was warm and inviting.

A Reef Cornetfish.

A bright Streater fish.

Yellowtail Surgeon fish.

A Chocolate Chip Seastar.

As we headed out to our evening destination we encountered a blue whale.
The sea was alive and the animals happy. There was everything to see.

Common dolphins dropped by...

glided alongside the ship...

porpoised through the water alongside the ship...

jumped clear out of the water, alongside the ship.

Brown Booby birds were even hanging with the dolphins.

The spout in the background is from a Blue whale also feeding in the area.
It was a brilliant time to see the sea alive with all the marine animals feeding.

Just before sunset we took a cruise into the mangroves.

We meandered our way to the lagoon.

A couple of Snowy Egrets were sitting in the intertwined mangrove roots.

The sun had started to set so we headed back to the Narval.

A beautiful sunset on a perfect day at sea.

Today started out totally fantastic because Paloma and Mily made us PANCAKES and BACON with fresh fruits. Then we had a chillin' morning whale watching. We encountered a finback whale, but eventually we gave up because the whale wasn’t really interested in us. We did see a marlin (big ol’ fish) that jumped about a billion times in a row, so that was pretty sweet.

In the afternoon we went snorkeling and kayaking and swimming off the boat, in front of a beautiful rocky island. It was a fun time, until all the jellyfish got their sting on with the snorkelers. That was a bit of a buzz kill. We took the subtle hint from the jellies and went our bonny way. Then thanks to Colleen’s awesome whale calls, we came right across a finback and a blue whale, just chillin’ like villains together. We crashed their party, and hung out with them until they said adios. Right after that, though, a pod of dolphins decided they wanted a piece of the Narval action. The pod was ginormous, like 500 dolphins, with a bunch of adorable nino dolphinos.

Then before supper we went on a panga tour of the gorgeous and mysterious mangrove trees. We saw two egrets, which we scared the bejeezes out of, so they vamoosed. We went back to the boat and enjoyed some delectable din-din as per usual, plus FLAN which was mucho delicioso. Then we played cards and Colleen was El Presidente and Pauline was the “donkey”. For serious, guys!!!  Then it was Buenos Noches! THE END.
