The Canadian team spent many months fundraising and collecting donation items. Without their help we could not have attained the level of success that we did. Liz, Bob, Liam, Jan, Riny and Louise were on the first Medical Expedition in 2009. They returned this year with bags and bags of donations and a monetary donation that purchased some of the medical supplies as well as building supplies. Thank you for everything!

Special thanks to the Mexican team for their medical contributions to the trip. Without their help we would not have been able to administer healthcare to approx. 200 members in the isolated communities of Isla Pardito, Nopolo, Las Cuevas, Punto Alto, Ensenada de Cortez and Palmo Solo. These communities have no access to hospitals or immediate medical help without transportation by boat or vehicle at a minimum 5 hours travel time to the nearest health facility.

The children of the communities were so tickled and delighted to have had the opportunity to eat ice cream in a place where there is no electricity for refrigeration. Imagine what a little, ice, cream and sugar placed in a plastic bag and shaken, can do!

I would like to give special thanks to Matty whose help in translating between the two languages removed any language barriers insuring the expeditions success.

I would also like to give special thanks to Stasia Ferbey and the Captain and crew of the Narval for all the hard work put into accomplishing this project.

Thank you all for your kind contributions to this project. The medical services, building materials and the arts and crafts with the kids were received with great affection and appreciation from the recipient communities.
