The divers geared up and excited for their first "Sea of Cortez" dive. One of the two divemasters, Carlos, gives the divers a talk on the first dive spot. It even caught the attention of the non-divers who were captured by what the group could encounter on their first dive.
The second divemaster, Favrisio. (Don't get me wrong but... if I had known... I would have taken up diving... nuts!!!!) Simon and his dad Patrick. The crew and divemasters prep the pangas with the gear.
The divers are geared up and head out to the dive site. This is Beth who shot the following pictures.
Barberfish. Pincushion Seastar. The venomous Stonefish. Shark infested waters will keep you on your toes... just kidding. But he does seem preoccupied.
Crown of Thorns Seastar. Meanwhile on shore, the non-divers encounter all sorts of cool dead stuff. The skeleton of a Balloonfish. Carol comes across the vertebrae column and skull of a dolphin.
Dead Mako shark. After wrestling with the shark Donald finally gets a handle on it! After the beach combing we hit the hills further exploring the flora and fauna.
Once the divers and shore team return a little R&R is spent on the bow. As we were underway a small pod of Bottlenosed dolphins swim past and stop for a moment to hang with the boat. They came up alongside of the boat. You could almost reach out and touch them.
As we motored along in the Narval we took a side excursion in the pangas to visit a couple of caves.
A conglomerate mixture of volcanic ash and rocks.
