Daily JournalSummer Cruise for TeachersDay 4 - part 2 - Photo Gallery |
| The second half of Day 4 ended with an amazing adventure at the breeding ground of the California Sea Lions, known as "Los Isolotes". A male looks on as we pass by in the panga. A mom and her pup. |
| Turkey vultures looking for their next meal of carion. This juvenile is doing what we all pay big bucks to do in mexico... chillax! A Sally Lightfoot crab hides in the crevice of the rocks. |
| Arghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! The divers find a spot to anchor the panga... |
| as a very large male swims by... gulp!
|
| Meanwhile the snorkellers are in the water looking for trouble. A Fanged Blenny. |
| Bicolor Parrot fish. And then they started to come around... yipes! The big male swam right under Samantha. |
| Somewhat intimidated Leila was always looking over her shoulder.
|
| So once we were totally comfortable we went looking for the divers and we found them. We got so carried away that we (the snorkellers) decided to bug them. We decided that the first diver we saw we would all hold our breaths dive down and hug them sort of like tree hugging. I guess we were looking for trouble. Mike was our poor victim!!!
|
| Mike finally breaks from the snorkellers grip and swims away. Rhiannon takes it all in.
|
| Sandy was definitely in her element. So was Beth! The sea lions swam by, some snuck up behind us while others curiously swam around us. It was a brilliant experience. A school of Wavy Grunt fish. A surreal way of ending an amazing day! |
