Pre - Day 1 - Photo Gallery

Most of the group arrived into La Paz the day before.

Along the way we stopped to purchase
mangos picked from the trees behind the stand.

Once in La Paz and settled into the hotel, lunch was first on the list.
Some had tacos - beef, chicken and shrimp.

Others decided on the roasted snapper. It was delicious.

Heather and Beth pose beside the "Hamburger Grill".

We decided to visit a local artisans shop.
One of the weavers was spinning his yarn.

The famous "Mexican blankets" are made using a loom.

Before departing the marina we headed to the grocery store to purchase a few
last minute groceries. Here a woman is removing the spines of the Prickly Pear
cactus. It is used mainly in soups and is quite delicious.

Finally onboard and we head out to sea.

Nothing like a Baja sunset!

It was overwhelming, the beauty of the
Sea of Cortez and the adventures that lay ahead.

Unfortunately Rhiannon, one of our participants, had her luggage
lost by the airlines so Leila and her "Pink Box" came to the rescue.
Leila had brought down a pink suitcase full of clothing to be donated
so Heather and Leila helped Rhiannon pick out a few outfits.

As we left the Bay of La Paz a spectacular
show of fireworks celebrated our departure.

What a way to end the day!
